Banega

Making a thing shouldn't mean betting your savings on it

Banega exists so independent Indian makers can find their buyers before they spend on production, and so those buyers are only charged for things that get made.

Why we started

Most small makers in India fund a first production run the same way: savings, a loan, or a hopeful batch that sits in a cupboard. Kickstarter doesn't let Indian makers launch directly, and an Instagram pre-order has no protection if something goes wrong.

Several platforms tried reward-based pre-orders here between 2013 and 2017. None solved the two hard parts: getting people to trust a maker they've never heard of, and bringing backers the maker didn't already have. Those two problems are what Banega is built around.

How we run it

If a campaign isn't funded, nobody is charged.
You approve an e-mandate for the exact price when you reserve, and it's debited only if the campaign hits its target by its closing date.
We curate, and we say no
Every maker is verified and shows a working prototype before launch.
We publish our misses
Every delivery date, kept or not, stays on the public record.
Payments run through a licensed gateway
Card and UPI details are handled by Razorpay and never touch our servers.

Who we are

Banega is built by a small team in Mumbai. Want to talk? Write to us through the contact page or see our press page.
